Devops engineer

JOB PURPOSE:
The specific goals of a DevOps approach span the entire delivery pipeline. They include improved deployment frequency, which can lead to faster time to market, lower failure rate of new releases, shortened lead time between fixes, and faster mean time to recovery in the event of a new release crashing or otherwise disabling the current system

MAIN ROLE:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be collaborating with Roamworks Software Engineers, Database Developer / Consultant, Project Engineers, and IT Engineers to setup and maintain software deployments at designated deployment sites. These deployment sites include in-house infrastructure and customer infrastructure.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Required Skills:
As a DevOps Engineer, you must have, at minimum, the following working knowledge and skills:
- Communication and collaboration skills (verbal and written)
- Object Oriented Programming
- SQL Scripting
- Shell Scripting

Responsibilities:
As a DevOps Engineer, you are responsible to fulfill tasks assigned to you. These tasks may arrive from planned routine or contingency plan. Basic activities that you must do include:
- Engineer and execute Deployment Plans
- Scheduled visits to deployment sites to run routine maintenance
- Monitor deployed solution
- Communicate progress report to Roamworks team involved (Software, Hardware, IT, and Project team)
- Engineer automation scripts necessary for Roamworks deployments
- Engineer automation scripts necessary for deployed operations
