Role Summary

As our Network & Systems Engineer based at the head office, you will design, deploy, and manage critical infrastructure components across corporate and manufacturing environments. Your mission is to ensure seamless connectivity, high availability, secure systems, and efficient integration between IT and Industrial OT systems. This role will involve both strategic planning and hands-on fieldwork in our production facilities.

Responsibilities

Networking & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, and manage network systems—both on-premises and cloudconnected (WAN, LAN, VPN).
• Ensure optimal performance, redundancy, and scalability between head office and production sites.

Office 365 & Collaboration Tools

• Administer Office 365 environments: user management, security, licensing, Teams, SharePoint.
• Ensure seamless integration with hybrid infrastructure and secure remote access.

Linux & Virtualisation

• Deploy, administer, and monitor Linux servers and virtual environments (Proxmox, KVM, Azure, AWS).
• Ensure and regularly validate backups, patching, and disaster recovery strategies.

Monitoring, Logging & Alerting

• Implement and maintain monitoring and alert systems (e.g. Zabbix, Prometheus, ELK).
• Configure alerts and dashboards to facilitate proactive incident detection and active response.

Security & Compliance

• Manage firewall policies, VPNs, endpoint protection, and compliance audits.
• Ensure firmware updates, vulnerability patching, and secure network configurations.

Industrial IoT & Manufacturing Connectivity

• Ensure connectivity for OT and IIoT systems: sensors, SCADA, PLC networks, OPC-UA, Modbus.
• Interface reliably with corporate IT and data systems while ensuring network resilience.

On-Site Field Work

• Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting in production environments across Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania.
• Work in alignment with wider operations team to ensure uptime and network integrity on the manufacturing floor.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Solid experience administering Office 365 and related collaboration platforms in-line with industry best-practices.
• Proven skills in designing and managing hybrid networks (cloud + on-prem).
• Strong Linux administration experience; adept at virtualisation and hybrid technologies.
• Expertise in monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices.
• Familiarity with Industrial IoT / OT systems and production environment networking.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure and AWS.
• Strong problem-solver - capable of detailed, hands-on fieldwork.
• Effective communicator: liaising between IT, production, and management teams.
• Highly collaborative, with the ability to bridge IT and operations teams.
• Adaptable, self-driven, pragmatic, and hands-on approach.
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a service-minded approach.
• Strong focus toward evidence-based decision making.
• Experience in the food & beverage or manufacturing industry, especially wine or similar sectors would be an advantage
