In Moldova, the company is specialised in energy & environment. This includes communal infrastructure in water, sewage, waste and energy efficiency. A strong emphasis is given to the decentralisation of the energy market including renewables like wind, photovoltaic and biogas based on waste (and not on cash crops), since it is more sustainable.

The respective technical fields are

1. the Moldovan energy market for electricity, gas etc. (regulation, tariffs etc.)
2. the city works for heating, electricity, waste, water and sewage for the population (decentralisation and energy change, climate protection, improved services, local budget, technology solutions, their finance and governance)
3. understanding of communal strategies and solutions for energy change (decentralisation) by renewable energy (technologies, competitiveness internationally and in Moldova, application with permits, business planning etc.)

Special tasks:

• Deep understanding of the reasons and drivers of energy change towards renewable energy (climate protection, efficiency, anti-nuclear power risks) in Germany and West Europe in the sense of dynamics of decentralisation and local governance: citizens and civic movements pulling and evoking sustainable and affordable infrastructure (better value for taxes)
• Instruments and techniques of communal infrastructure development (city works corporations being controlled by the munis and their people; forms of PPP; corporate development of town companies; cooperatives for energy change)
• Project design, calculus and development (PPA, permits, land properties, acceptance)
• Environmental sustainability assessments and other certificates
• Emission certificates and similar instruments of additional finance for Moldova

We look for a

Young Engineer (Water and Energy)

Requirements:

➢ solid academic diploma in engineering or applied economics
➢ personal involvement in conservancy or energy change movements or internship in Western Europe (specially: Germany)
➢ few years of practical experience in operations & management (apĂ canal or similar) or / and advisory
➢ age: 24 to 30 years old
➢ good presentation and communication skills (mother tongue: Romanian)
➢ fluent English
➢ computer skills and driver’s license
